In business, the most important aspect of working on a new project is research.
We know what you’re thinking – that in an era of Internet and its all-knowing, all-powerful Wikipedia, research has become simple, if not fully unnecessary. But hear us out.
When we embark on a new product development plan – say, our new series of three valve boxes – we don’t simply go onto the web, look at what our competitors are doing and copy their ideas. Instead, we do our research the right way. We embark on a deep survey of industry stakeholders in Winnipeg and across Manitoba, talking to design engineers and contractors in cities and towns across our great province, listening to their plights and hearing their suggestions for how we can better improve our products and services.
Is this facet time consuming? You bet; but this is not time wasted – it’s time well spent. To stay on top of the game, you have to know what that game is demanding. You can’t just tell someone they need a new valve box – you have to know why they need a new valve box and what features they require.
We’d like to take this moment to thank everyone who responded to our requests for conversations and feedback as we set out to design this new series of valve boxes.
This new line of valve boxes is not just a new product from WD Industrial Group – it truly is innovation from the waterworks industry.
